An A-frame on the edge of the lake.

An A-frame on the edge of a bluff over the lake outside Lobelville, 3000 square feet, four bedrooms. The front gable is glass from the floor to the peak, and the living room behind it has a shiplap ceiling that follows the roof all the way up. The window wall faces west over the water, so the last light of the day comes straight into the room.

The structure underneath is heavier than it looks. The basement is concrete poured inside insulated forms, the frame above it is engineered lumber throughout, the walls are packed with closed-cell foam, and the roof is standing seam metal, with Hardie siding and Pella windows and doors closing it in. It was built to sit on the edge of a lake in every kind of weather.
