Outdoor Space

1,000 Sq Ft Outdoor Space

Columbia, Maury County

Porch, deck, and patio, all one room.

An outdoor space in Columbia built across nine feet of grade. The house sits high, the yard sits low, and the job was to connect them so that moving between the two felt like one place rather than a climb.

At the top is a screen porch with a fireplace and a TV set into the wall. Beside it, a deck with a bar counter built into the railing, looking down over the yard. Steps run from there to a lower patio under a cedar pergola, with a second television, a built-in grill, and a rolling bar cart. Trex decking, aluminum cable railings, posts and beams wrapped in Hardie, AZEK skirting, beadboard ceilings. Lights are set into the risers, so after dark the steps read as a path instead of a drop.
