No steps, and no noise.

A modern farmhouse a few miles outside Dickson, built for a family that wanted the house to stay out of the way. It sits on a full basement, with a three-car garage and a pool and hot tub off the back porch, and the whole plan came down to two things, no steps and no noise.

The first one is easy to see once it’s pointed out. There isn’t a step anywhere between the garage, the house, and the back porch, so the whole main level moves as one floor. The hot tub keeps to the same rule. It’s recessed into the porch, so getting in is one low step rather than a climb over the side. And the garage has a lift, so anything heavy headed for the storage attic rides up instead of getting carried.

The second one is mostly hidden. The kitchen range vents through a powerful fan, but the fan itself sits out in the attic, so the kitchen stays quiet while the fan makes its hum somewhere else. The master bath vents are set up the same way. Outside, the HVAC condensers, the generator, and the pool equipment all live together in a fenced yard set off from the house, and the noise stays out there with them.

This is our 8th home as a family. My wife and I have remodeled and built before, but our experience with Paul and the team at Ryan Pros on our new home in Dickson County was, hands down, the best we’ve ever had.

Paul, (Jacob too), and the entire team are honest, hardworking, and simply a joy to work with. We absolutely love our new home, and the entire process was so smooth and drama-free that if the house weren’t already perfect, we’d be tempted to build with them again. 😉

We started with stock house plans purchased online and simply told Paul what we wanted and what we didn’t. With zero drama, he made it happen. Sure, there were a few change orders along the way (as there always are), but Paul was reasonable, responsive, and fair every step of the way.
